St. Modwens Parish Registers 4219/6/368-480 Bundles of Apprentiship Indentures

It was normal practice at this time to do an apprentiship from 12 to 20 years of age, so could explain why Thomas Lees (Cooper) did not join the army till he was 20?. The above papers contain only children from "the poor house" & no "Lees" were found.

No other document were available for Bond End around 1780-1800 apart from the BMD parish records, which go back to the 16th Century. However there are no records of Thomas's Mother or Father's Births or Marriage, therefore I believe that Thomas & Sarah were not from this parsh & probably moved into the district for employment.
